Freshman Leadership Academy - Global Leadership Experience

Freshman Leadership Academy

The Freshman Leadership Academy (FLA) was created in 2010 to expose first year students to the specific duties, responsibilities, opportunities, and challenges associated with all aspects of student leadership. In its seventh year of existence, the Freshmen Leadership Academy has quickly developed into one of the most sought after programs on campus for first year students.

FLA consists of four components: bi-monthly workshops; case studies/group projects; mentorship from upperclassmen student leaders/alumni; and community service. FLA, in line with the University, emphasizes global leadership and international cultural exchange. One goal of the Freshman Leadership Academy is to prepare and encourage students to pursue international opportunities, such as: scholarships / fellowships as well as studying or interning abroad.
